I initially received this item without high expectations, but it quickly left a positive impression on me for several reasons. Firstly, its advertised length of 16.4 feet which is inclusive of the LED brightness control and the pigtail that connects to the lightning connector. However, it’s important to note that this pigtail section and LED brightness control does not appear to be waterproof. On the other hand, the camera head is indeed waterproof, as I personally tested it by submerging it in water and rigorously using it for plumbing tasks, which it handled without any issues.

It’s worth mentioning that in order to use this device, you’ll need to download the manufacturer’s iPhone app. While this may be a drawback for some, I personally found it a bit inconvenient and wished it was a straightforward USB camera. However, if it were a USB camera, it would necessitate the use of a laptop, which comes with its own set of challenges. Additionally, this device utilizes a lightning connector, limiting its compatibility to iPhones. With the iPhone 15 having a USB-C port, there might be compatibility issues if an adapter (if available) is used – I was unable to test this as I only have an iPhone 14 Plus.

The cable itself is relatively stiff, which makes it challenging to neatly wrap and store. On the flip side, this stiffness is an advantage when navigating it through long pipes, although it may struggle with extremely tight bends. The package includes two attachments, a hook and a magnet. The magnet, unfortunately, obstructs the camera’s view, while the hook, although more space-efficient, still poses usability and visibility challenges. However, the hook attachment could be valuable for retrieving small objects like rings from sink traps.

In my case, I don’t foresee using this tool primarily for plumbing tasks but rather for assisting in running ethernet cables throughout my home. Its stiffness lends itself well to taping it to an ethernet cable and guiding it through tight and tricky spaces between different space of my home. Overall, I am genuinely excited to incorporate this tool into my collection, as it opens up a range of possibilities for various tasks beyond its intended use.

I got this endoscope camera because we had a blockage in our kitchen pipe and we were hoping to see what was causing it. I didn’t realize this is for iPhone users only (my husband and I both have Android phones) so our daughter downloaded the app and we used her phone for this. I don’t like soooo many items nowadays has to have an app downloaded in order to use it. Once we got the app installed and put the endoscope down the pipe, the picture quality was clear (besides all the gunk in our pipe). This didn’t really work for us though, but that’s not fault of the product but rather our pipes that had so much build up in them that we couldn’t see because the scope kept getting clogged with grime. This was my first time using anything like this so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I can see this coming in handy for many home improvement projects in the future though.

This camera has a nice clear picture and the lights were bright enough for my purpose. I was putting it down a pipe to determine where is was going trying to find a blockage. I am not a professional so I couldn’t use it the way I wanted or know if it could work the way I wanted it to. But I was able to determine the path my downspout goes when it goes underground. I was hoping to see down the pipe farther but once the pipe turned I couldn’t get the camera to turn and go down the pipe after the turn.

So, overall this works well. However, the focal point of the camera is too far to be able to see closer up. You have to back the camera up to be able to see smaller details, but depending on the lighting you may lose the detail. The adjustable LED’s are decently bright.

The cord(?) is long, long enough to inspect air ducts or other longer stretches. If you don’t need to check things like that, you may opt for a shorter set up since the rest of the cord coiled up can be cumbersome.

It definitely takes some patience and practice in maneuvering the camera to be able to see what you’re trying to see in larger spaces.

As I said, though, overall it works decently for the price. It fits a 9mm barrel with a little spare room, for those wondering (probably wouldn’t go much smaller than that).

This is very useful tool for looking in all kinds of odd areas. I originally used it to inspect which wall cavities various wires were in since we are running some new Ethernet cables. Since then I have used it to inspect a dryer vent, check a drain for a clog and under the couch for lost marbles. The picture quality is good, I had an older one of these some years back and the picture was awful. The LED is bright and clear and it is plenty long if you are inspecting pipes. I had to fiddle with the app a bit to get it working but it seems to be fine now. I think it is a good product that is very situational depending upon what you need it or use it for.

First of all, this is so simple to set up. Just a couple of minutes and you’re using it! I started out using it on my iPhone, but then loaded the app to my iPad, just to get a bigger picture. It has some great options you can use to increase your image clarity. It does have a good picture, but I found it to be a little grainy at times. This is a great tool for troubleshooting problems with plumbing, mechanical, appliances, etc. I have yet to use it under water, just haven’t had that problem yet, but It is supposed to be safe. The extra long coil comes in very hand. Overall, it’s a great tool to have on hand, even if you don’t use it everyday.

We have been having a toilet flush with abnormally low pressure for a little over a week. We suspected our young ones tried to flush a toy down the potty. We plunged and used different tools to try to unclog it to no avail. We got this waterproof camera, installed the app and quickly put it down our toilet to see that no one but two toys were bound in a weird position about 1 ft down the toilet pipe. Thank to this info we used a proper tool to hook the toys and now our toilet it working perfectly. I recommend.
