The History and Development of Gadget’s Go Coaster

The exterior of the coaster was designed to look like the home of Gadget Hackwrench, the main character from Disney’s Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers. The coaster itself was designed to be a small, family-friendly roller coaster with lots of twists and turns. The track was made of steel and painted a bright blue and yellow with a few green accents. The cars were designed to resemble the jets from the Rescue Rangers and they featured a brightly-colored parachute on the back.
The ride was opened to the public in 1996 and was an instant success. Guests lined up to experience the thrilling ride and the coaster quickly became one of the most popular attractions in the park. The coaster’s popularity even earned it the distinction of being the first ride at Disney’s Toontown to be included in the Disney’s FASTPASS ticket system.
